Born Evelyn Wanjiru Agundabweni, professionally known in the Kenyan musical artistry as Evelyn Wanjiru, is a passionate gospel singer, worship leader, music director, songwriter, composer, entrepreneur, cofounder of Bwenieve production as well as the hostess of the annual gospel event, Praise Atmosphere.
Early Life and Education
Evelyn was born on 9 May 1990 in the Nakuru Kenya Freehold Estate. Her admiration towards music was revealed at the age of 9. She is the fourth born of five children born to Helen Muhonya and Crispin Kinyua. She performed during local church services and music festivals. Growing up in the Nakuru Kenya Freehold Estate, she attended Saint Mary’s Girls Primary and proceeded to Langalanga Secondary.
In her preliminary stage of her education, she was greatly involved in drama and singing serving as the bases of her current career.
Musical Career
From 2010, when she commenced her music professionally, Evelyn has won the hearts of many people, especially her fans from her motherland, Kenya which has helped her garner self image and increase her fan base collectively.
Initially participating in drama and choral, she joined the Tears Group sited in Nakuru for music lessons before further benefiting from the government of Kenya at the 2010 Talent Academy at the University of Kabarak in Nakuru.
Evelyn gained commercial success when she across music producer, Agundabweni Akweyu, with whom she set up a recording studio, Bwenieve production. She recorded her first album, “Mazingira“, which was later changed “Waweza“. This album helped her earn popular acclaim as it received many positive feedback along with a few critics from music lovers as long as awards and accolades as a result of her remarkable work done.

Marital Bond
Evelyn married producer Agundabweni Akweyu at Buruburu Baptist Church at Nairobi, where her Late father-in-law served as a senior pastor. Having faced child bearing challenges for ten years, they welcomed their first child, a handsome baby boy.
Evelyn has toured different countries and and shared the same stage with her renowned counterparts like Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Chandler Moore, Sinach, Mary Mary.
Having showcased her cooperation through collaborating with other gospel singers like Celestine Donkor, Mkhululi Bhebhe among others thereby showing her personality and ingenuity to all music lovers.
