Joe Mettle: An Award-winning Gospel Artist

Joseph Oscar Nii Armah Mettle, recognized by his stage name Joe Mettle, is a Ghanaian gospel singer, songwriter as well as a preacher.

Early Life and Musical Beginning

Joe Mettle was born to Florence Addo and Emmanuel Mettle and is the eldest of six children. Mettle commenced his education at the Richard Akwei Memorial School and later moved to Kade 1&2 Primary School at Kade where he spent about a year before returning to Accra. In Accra, he proceeded his education at St. Michael’s and All Angels. For his basic education certificate, he attended Korle Gonno 3 Junior High School and obtained his senior high school certificate at the prestigious Accra Academy. He also attended Modesco( Modern School of Draftsmanship ) where he studied draftsmanship. He then proceeded to the Pentecost University College at Sowutuom in Accra.

Career

He worked as a backing vocalist for some Ghanaian Gospel musicians like the likes of Cindy Thompson, the late Danny Nettey and Reverend Tom Bright Davies. Aside from being a backing vocalist, he was a lead singer for the indigenous group, Soul Winners.

Joe Mettle Ministries

Like all other gospel artists in Ghana and beyond, Joe Mettle has brought out his ministries, which he named, the Joe Mettle Ministries. A ministry founded in 2007 which comprises of two major annual headline events; Praiz Reloaded, midyear and Lovegift in December every year.

Joe Mettle is also the owner of Reverb Studios, which is a rehearsal and recording studio in Accra. The company provides musical equipment rentals well as music and marketing consultancy services.

Personal Life

Joe Mettle is married to Salomey Selassie Dzisa. Their ceremony took place in Accra on 13, August, 2020, which was followed by the wedding ceremony in Tema on 15, August, 2020.
