Themba Sekowe, or Lawd Phori, or better still Madumane, known professionally as DJ Maphorisa, is a South African DJ, record producer, talented singer as well as a songwriter who conveys to the world intriguing lyrics and catchy themes to “wow “his fans.
As a notable record producer, singer and songwriter, he has worked with and has achieved many production credits in the genres of House music , Amapiano and Afropop from artists such as Wizkid, Uhuru, Drake, Kabza de Small, Young stunna, Killer Kau, Black coffee, Major Lazer, TRESOR, and the like.
Early Life and Career Beginning
DJ Maphorisa was born on 15, November , 1987, in Soshanguve, in Pretoria, South Africa.
He was signed to Kalawa Yazmee Records, prior to establishing his very own record label, Blaqboy Music.
Maphorisa rose to fame after producing hit singles for artists of different genres such as My Name Is, Lahka, Jezebel, Suited among others.
