Deko Barbara -Jessica Wedi, professionally called Rouge, is a glamorous Congolese -South African rapper, author and a media personality.

Rouge is known to deliver her music to the world in the genre of Hip Hop and has signed to the record labels Sony Music and Warner Music South Africa.Rouge is an elegant rapper, singer, author and a television host.

Early Life

Barbara or preferably Rouge, was born on 13, September, 1992 in Pretoria, Gauteng in South Africa. Barbara is a DR Congolese Descent since both of her parents were born in Congo.

She commenced songwriting at the age of twelve resulting in her taking part in public speaking, poetry and acting. She started rapping at the age of 19 when her friend advised that she rap the RB songs she composed for sometime.

She attended the University of Pretoria where she graduated with a degree in Drama and film.

Career

In December 2014, she released her second single Mi Corazon, featuring rapper BigStar Johnson, following her debut single, Party.

The next year, Rouge was featured by the deceased rapper AKA along with other female rappers in the remix of his song, Baddest.

Shw released a number of songs which earned her various awards such as one of the best Female rappers along with fellow South African rapper, Nadia Nakai and Ghanaian rapper, Eno Barony.
