Tiwa, also known as, or preferably as The Queen of Afrobeats, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and an actress. Tiwa Savage conveys her music to the world in the genres of Afrobeats, Afropop, Pop, Hip Hop and R&B and has signed to the record label 323, Universal, Motown, Capital, Island.

Early Life

Born Tiwatope Omolara Savage is a singer born in 5, February, 1980 in Isale Eko.

She later moved to London at the age of eleven for her secondary education. At about half of a decade, she began her music career by serving as a backup vocalist for artists like George Michael,and Mary J. Blige.

She graduated from Berkeley College of Music after participating in the UK edition of the X-factor. She then signed a deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing in 2009.

She then moved back to Nigeria in 2009 realizing the growth of the Nigerian Music Industry. She then signed to Marvin Records in 2012 in which she appeared on the labels 2012 compilation album.

Tiwa Savage married Tunji Balogun in 2013. Unfortunately their marriage was facing turbulences and they felt they could no longer bear the infidelities in the marriage so a divorce was sought in the year 2018.
