Camidoh

Raphael Kofi Attachie, born 21, January 1994, popularly known by his stage name Camidoh, is a Ghanaian Afropop, R&B and Afrobeats songwriter and musician.

He was born in the Volta Region of Ghana. Raised by his single mother, he obtained his secondary education at the prestigious Bishop Herman College, in Kpando Municipal District where he majored in General Arts. He furthered his education at the University of Professional Studies in Accra, Ghana, where he graduated with a degree in Marketing in Bachelor of Science.

Career

  • In 2018, Camidoh was signed to Grind Don’t Stop Records where he released his first single which titled ‘For My Lover’ which featured Darkovibes.
  •  He later released The Best which featured Kelvyn Boy.
  • He late released Available featuring Eugene.
  • In 2021, he released a single which featured BET Award nominee Kwesi Arthur which was titled, Dance with You.
  • In 2020, he released, a six-track EP titled Contingency Plan (CP).
  • In March 2021, Camidoh performed at the Entertainment Achievement Awards organized by Citi TV.
  • He rose to prominence between 2021 and 2022, with the release of his single Sugarcane in the latter part of December. The song began to trend on after creators on TikTok used it in their videos, thus promoting his songs thereafter.
  • He released on 8th April 2022, he released a remix of the song featuring King Promise, Nigerian artist Mayorkun and British rapper, Darkoo.

Awards and Nominations

  • He won the International Collaboration Act at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, 2023.
  • He won the Afrobeats Song of the Year during the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, 2023.
  • He won the Best Afrobeats / Afropop Artist of the Year, the same year 2023 during the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
  • He won the International Collaboration of the Year, 2023.
  • He won the Best Afrobeats Song of the Year, 2023.

Camidoh has been nominated for a number of awards in 2021 and 2022.

Before the onset of his career, he was inspired by the Senegalese-American artist, Akon, his musical icon after making continuous visits to the Café to play Akon’s songs along with his cousin.
